BASKING RIDGE, N.J.
Part of Bernards Township in Somerset County, Basking Ridge is a beautiful, bustling hamlet with an enchanting downtown and is home to an active, tight-knit group of residents. It's close proximity to Manhattan makes it a commuter town, accessible via the bus, train through Summit, or a quick drive out Rt. 78. The competitive school system draws families from near and far, and the rolling natural beauty of various parks and protected land make it a wonderful place to call home.
Family-run restaurants and businesses abound, with close-by Bernardsville and Morristown adding even more options for dining out. Morristown's Mayo Performing Arts Center is a short drive to see shows and concerts year-round, or check out the in-town festivals happening throughout the summer and into autumn (don't miss Charter Day!). Many nearby parks like Lewis Morris and Natirar offer a myriad of biking and hiking trails, while local farms provide pick-your-own opportunities in both the summer (blueberries, strawberries, peaches and more!) and the fall (apples and pumpkins). Add to that the option of a quick jaunt into the city for the best shopping, nightlife, and culture in the world, and it's easy to see why this refreshing country hideaway is such an incredibly lovely place to live.
